Terms of Service

These Terms of Service ("Terms") govern your access to and use of the website escapions.com, the booking flow at quests.isolly.com, and the mobile web-app at app.quests.isolly.com (together, the "Service"), operated by Escapions ("we", "us", "our"). By creating an account, booking a route, or playing a game you agree to these Terms. If you do not agree, please do not use the Service.

1. Eligibility

You may use the Service if you can form a legally binding contract under the law of your country. If you book on behalf of someone else (for example as a gift), you confirm that you are authorised to do so and that the recipient will be informed of these Terms before they play. Routes are age-rated 12+ or 18+; do not play a route that you are not old enough for.

2. Description of the Service

Escapions offers story-driven city game tours. You browse routes, book one, receive a game code by email, and play the route in the mobile web-app, walking from point to point and solving puzzles. The Service may be updated, expanded, paused or retired at any time; we will not refund a purchase because a route has been retired before you played it, but we will offer a comparable replacement or a credit.

3. Your account

You may use the Service as a guest for single purchases, or you can create an account. You are responsible for keeping your password safe and for every action taken under your account. Notify us immediately at security@escapions.com if you believe your account has been compromised. We may suspend or close an account that breaks these Terms, that is being used to abuse the leaderboards or the rate limits, or that infringes someone elses rights.

4. Purchases and payment

The price you see on the booking page is the price you pay, including VAT where applicable. We may charge an extra "extra phone" fee per ticket if you opt into the multi-device add-on; that fee is shown before you confirm. We may run promotions or accept coupon codes; promotions are subject to their own terms. All purchases are denominated in EUR.

Payment is processed by a third-party payment provider. We never store full card numbers. Once the payment is confirmed, the booking is complete and your game code is delivered by email. Gift codes are delivered by email and may be redeemed by anyone who knows the code; treat them like cash.

5. Refunds

Because the Service is a digital product that begins as soon as the game code is delivered, the EU 14-day right of withdrawal does not apply once you have started a game. We will refund you if:

  • you bought a route in error and have not yet started a game on that code;
  • a route was retired before you played, and no comparable replacement is offered;
  • a technical issue on our side stops the game from being playable and we cannot fix it within 7 days.

Refunds are returned to the original payment method within 14 days. Email support@escapions.com to request one.

6. Use of the Service

You agree to use the Service responsibly. In particular you agree not to:

  • reverse engineer the Service, scrape the routes data, or attempt to bypass authentication or payment;
  • upload photos that contain other peoples faces without consent, illegal content, or content that infringes someone elses rights;
  • game the leaderboard by abusing the rate limits, submitting fake check-ins, or sharing answers between teams;
  • use the Service to harass, abuse, or stalk anyone;
  • cross roads or enter restricted areas to reach a point — always follow local traffic laws and posted signage.

7. Playing safely

The game is designed to be played on foot. Pay attention to traffic, weather, and your surroundings — looking at your phone in a busy street is dangerous. Do not trespass; routes do not lead through private property. If a point is unreachable due to construction or a road closure, contact support and we will help you finish the game.

8. User-generated content

When you submit a review, a team name, a photo, or a contact-form message, you grant us a worldwide, non-exclusive, royalty-free licence to host, display, and adapt that content as needed to operate the Service. You retain ownership of your content. You confirm that you have the right to submit it and that it does not infringe anyone elses rights.

We may moderate or remove content that breaks these Terms. Public-facing content (team names on leaderboards, written reviews) may be quoted in marketing material in the form it was originally published.

9. Intellectual property

The routes, puzzles, illustrations, sound effects, software and trademarks of the Service belong to Escapions or its licensors. We grant you a personal, non-transferable, non-exclusive licence to access the Service and play a route you have purchased. You may not redistribute, resell, or republish the routes content without our written permission.

10. Disclaimers

The Service is provided "as is" and "as available". We do not warrant that the Service will be uninterrupted, error-free, or perfectly accurate; routes are written for entertainment and not as authoritative historical sources. We do not warrant that you will reach the leaderboards, and we do not guarantee that a specific puzzle or route will remain available indefinitely.

11. Limitation of liability

To the maximum extent permitted by law, our liability to you for any claim arising out of the Service is limited to the amount you paid for the route, gift, or subscription that gave rise to the claim. We are not liable for indirect, incidental, or consequential losses (for example, lost data, lost time, or lost enjoyment).

12. Termination

You can stop using the Service at any time and delete your account from the profile page. We may terminate or suspend access at any time, with or without notice, if you violate these Terms, if continuing to provide the Service would expose us to legal risk, or if we decide to retire the Service entirely. Provisions of these Terms that by their nature should survive termination (intellectual property, disclaimers, limitation of liability, dispute resolution) survive.

13. Changes to these Terms

We may update these Terms when we add features or when the law requires us to. The "Last updated" date at the top reflects the most recent change. Material changes will be announced by email or by a banner on the site at least 14 days before they take effect.

14. Dispute resolution and governing law

These Terms are governed by the laws of the Netherlands. Disputes that cannot be resolved by good-faith negotiation will be brought before the competent courts of Amsterdam. Consumer protection law in your country of residence still applies where it gives you stronger rights.
